Specialty Swabs are Designed for Use in Microelectronics and Critical Environments

Guilford, Me., January 22, 2009 – Puritan Medical Products LLC, the leading manufacturer of specialty-tip applicators in North America, today announced the introduction and general availability of the company’s new ESD Safe Swab product line. The new product line features ESD safe polypropylene handles, and includes dissipative foam and ultra clean microfiber-tipped applicators in both three and six-inch lengths.

With primary applications in microelectronics and critical environments, ESD Safe Swabs protect electronic circuitry and devices from the negative effects of electro static discharge (ESD). An ESD event can cause an immediate product failure, or cause a product to fail later, affecting product lifespan, as well as safety and customer satisfaction.

“Our development of these specialty swabs was driven by customer demand for a safe swab to use in electronic assembly for production of a wide range of critical, industrial and medical devices,” said Timothy Templet, Executive Vice President of Sales. “While appropriate for many environments and uses, our ESD Safe Swabs also meet the most stringent criteria for use in critical environments.”
